Description
Overview
The Longevity Stack is a curated two-component research bundle pairing NAD+ (beta-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) with SS-31 (elamipretide), supplied by G Peptide Labs for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory research only. Both compounds are widely used reference materials in the study of mitochondrial biology and cellular bioenergetics. This bundle is intended to support benchtop and animal-model investigation of two intersecting pathways: NAD+-dependent metabolism and cardiolipin-associated inner-membrane integrity. It is not a therapeutic product and is not intended for human or veterinary use, diagnosis, or consumption.
Research Context
Age-associated decline in cellular NAD+ has been described across numerous preclinical rodent models, where researchers correlate reduced NAD+ availability with altered mitochondrial and stem-cell function. In parallel, the mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide SS-31 has been characterized in cell culture and animal models as a cardiolipin-binding agent under study for its influence on cristae architecture and electron-transport efficiency. Pairing the two provides investigators a single kit to explore how cofactor availability and structural membrane stabilization may interact in laboratory assays of oxidative stress, ATP synthesis, and mitochondrial morphology.
- Studied in murine and rat models of tissue injury and age-related mitochondrial change.
- Frequently used in in-vitro assays of redox balance and metabolic flux.
- Relevant to preclinical questions in the broader field researchers describe as “longevity” or “healthspan” biology.
Mechanism of Interest
NAD+ functions as an essential redox cofactor and a substrate for enzyme families including sirtuins and PARPs. Researchers investigate how NAD+ availability shapes mitochondrial signalling and metabolic output in cultured cells and animal tissue. SS-31 is reported to associate selectively with cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane; in preclinical studies this association is examined for its relationship to cristae stability and reduced peroxidase activity of cytochrome c. The scientific rationale for co-studying these compounds is that one addresses cofactor supply while the other addresses membrane structure — complementary levers on mitochondrial performance in experimental systems.

- Purity: Each component assayed to a documented specification (typically ≥99% by HPLC) with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry.
- Intended use: Laboratory research use only (RUO).
Handling, Reconstitution & Storage
Both components should be handled by trained laboratory personnel using appropriate protective equipment. Lyophilized material is stable when kept sealed and cold; store the sealed vials refrigerated at 2–8°C for short intervals and at -20°C or colder for long-term storage, protected from light and moisture.
- Reconstitute the SS-31 peptide with sterile bacteriostatic or sterile water for laboratory use, adding solvent slowly against the vial wall and swirling gently rather than shaking.
- NAD+ is prepared fresh in the buffer appropriate to the assay; it is sensitive to hydrolysis and repeated freeze-thaw, so aliquoting is recommended.
- Once reconstituted, keep working solutions cold, aliquot to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and record preparation dates for reproducibility.
- Follow your institution’s protocols for storage, labelling, and disposal of research chemicals.
Quality & Verification
Every batch shipped by G Peptide Labs is supported by a third-party Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting identity and purity for each component. The COA reports HPLC purity, mass-spectrometry-confirmed molecular weight, and appearance, allowing your laboratory to verify the material against its stated specification before use. As a Canadian supplier, we ship domestically with the documentation researchers expect for record-keeping and reproducibility. If any result on your COA is unclear, our team can walk through the assay data with your lab.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use, and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
